The Modern Pocketbook
Why this bag? Before each trip, I go through the ritual of “ok which bag will I need?" What is small and light to pack? Which bag can I pack easily into another bag, what’s my wallet going to be? Always a conundrum.
Enter the Modern Pocketbook by Clava. I have been using this bag for a while now and love its ingenious size, style and design.
This classy little bag can be pulled apart into two bags and be worn 3 ways. You can carry the wallet separately... you can carry the envelope styled handbag separately... or both together as a petite shoulder bag or cross body. Each variation with or without a shoulder strap.
A fancy-chic bag for going out, it's flap acts as a pocket and adds some interest. The interior is fully lined and has an divider zip pocket. Use it to hold your passport, keys, glasses, lipstick, phone, etc. If you just need a clutch, don’t attach the wallet.
The wallet interior boasts 6 card slots, drop pockets for bills, 2 additional pockets and a zipped center compartment for change. Take it with you for the day, easily toss into an outer bag, or wear it alone with just a strap.
Wallet + Handbag
Magnetic snaps and clips attach the attractive handbag to the detachable wallet for your convenience and security. It truly marries fashion and function; and is useful while being quite unique.
Detachable/adjustable shoulder straps
Dimensions: 7.5" x 5.25" x 2.5"
Designed in New Jersey, made in China.
This is a Clava and Jao exclusive.
If you love what you have, you have everything you need
This crossbody was born of Claudio Vazquez' love of function. He thought a bag like this was much needed in the CLAVA line, so he came up with the concept. Mia Hur designed and worked on material selections. She wanted the bag to be modern and polished for a sophisticated look, which is as much about function as fashion.
Clava Design Team
Claudio Vazquez - Founder and President
Argentine born, Claudio Vazquez, the brainchild behind CLAVA, designed his first bag out of his college dorm room at age twenty. A world traveler and a student of anything design, for three decades he has employed a keen eye and tireless drive to make Clava the success that it is today. Claudio has traveled the world (many times over) in search of the finest leathers, textiles and materials, and his mark shows on each and every Clava piece.
Mia Hur - Designer
Mia graduated with an art degree from New York University and has been putting her knowledge and knack for design to work at Clava for over two decades. Her keen business sense and straight forward personality allow her to keep Clava growing while she remains grounded, juggling multiple roles in both work and life. Mia's classic personal style is interpreted in every bag she designs.
