I was tired of thin lip balms that didn’t really seem to do much or last that long. I wanted ours to really, really, work. This is not just a lip balm; this is a lip protection system formulated for Lip Balm Snobs. An artisanal lip balm with our proprietary blend of Shea, Avocado, Mango, and Pumpkin butters.

This long-lasting balm imparts lips with a creaminess that we think is pretty hard to match. It restores moisture instantly, and wears beautifully alone, adding a slight luster to the lips with 4% Zinc Oxide. It also works really well under lipstick.

+ What SPF is LipJao?

Our LipJao is not formally SPF rated. We did, however, have it tested and our rating is SPF-5. Since our focus as a company is to make natural products, we did not want to make a chemical sunscreen. Instead, we reformulated our LipJao to include a blend of 4 butters: Shea, Avocado, Mango and Pumpkin as well as Meadowfoam Seed Oil which all have natural sunscreen properties. We also did not want to make a pure white lip balm, so we added 4% Zinc Oxide which IS, in fact, sunscreen.

+ Why does my LipJao smell different than before?

We only use essential oils and not synthetic fragrance. You might notice a slight fragrance variation from batch to batch. This is because the essential oils are made from plants and each growing season there are changes due to weather, moisture and sun.

+ Why is my LipJao a grayish color?

Jao Brand uses only natural oils and butters to create our creamy LipJao. Color can range from creamy yellow to light gray.  

+ Are there any allergens in LipJao?

Some users might be sensitive to essential oils in LipJao: Vanilla, Tea Tree, Anise Star and Palmarosa. Also, please note that while some fruit, like Mango, contains the allergen urushiol, an oil that can irritate, LipJao only contains Mango butter from the mango seed which does not contain urushiol. Those with nut allergies, pleases check with your health professional.
